So Marissa (my niece) has started kindergarten. Last weekend I sat down with her to practice writing. I pulled out this pen for her to use out of my purse and she was memorized by it. She just thought it was the coolest thing ever! Shia & Rissa love post-its...we are the same! If you are unaware of my post-it obsession click here. I just love when I find more and more things that we have in common!
Do you have children/or nieces/nephews that have similarities to you? Don't you just love it?
So at work, I am getting a new office. While packing some stuff up, I found this pen that a co-worker had given me from their vacation because he figured if anyone would appreciate a pen...it would be me. So I'm going to give it to Marissa...I am sure she will absolutely love it.

I have a niece who is 17 and four nephews ranging in age from 2 to 12. I have discovered little things that each of them share with me, and I love it. It makes me feel like the cool aunt :P

ReplyDeleteOh Shia I LOVE this post. Whyyy? Because i am a brand new Auntie to my sisters beautifulll little girl Delilah. Shes only 10 weeks old but I am in love with her and cannot wait until I find little things like you have that we have in common. That is just the sweetest. SHE WILL LOVE THAT PEN (I just yelled that haha) so make sure you do give it to her :) It'll probably be her favourite thing in the world as its from you - I think AUnties and neices/nephews have special bonds.

What you can't see from the photo is it is filled with water and glitter and there is the Alps in the background and as you tilt it the little people mover slides you across the Alps. So that plus lighting up has to be awesome...right!?!

Elle - wow we are neighbors! =) I like Jacksonville but Paul and I are both from up north so we miss the season - especially fall - so we're thinking about moving. Washington State is on our list. Anyone live or been to Spokane?
Anna- congrats on being an Auntie. With Marissa it was love at first sight. I went to see her every weekend and I swear even when she was only 2 weeks old she smiled when I peered over her crib at her. I remember thinking when she was born what she would be like when she was a little older (about the age she is now) and it is amazing. She rides in my car...sunroof open of course...singing along to the radio. It just melts my heart.
I'm writing a piece about her for a contest for Real Simple Magazine. I'll post it up here after I submit it.
