World According to Shia

Since this weekend is going to be a chilly one, I thought I would just post how I plan to kick it around my house.  I know some of you are going to be in MUCH colder areas so I recommend that we all stay in and get cozy!     What do you think? 

Thanks to the fact I needed to have a vision test done - apparently you can only renew online so many times BEFORE you have to prove you can see.  So here is the gist of what I wore to have my license photo taken.  I'm a firm believer in ... don't show too much skin because then it just turns out looking all weird in that dreaded photo.  Also, wear a dark or black top.  This will help make the contrast of your head and your body show up under that bright flash.  Some extras:  I brought a magazine to read but I walked right in ... thank you DMV gods.  Also, I rewarded myself with my FREE birthday drink from Starbucks.  I got a Venti Iced Decaf Soy Caramel Macchito Upside Down (not quite represented by the photo above but again you get the gist).  Isn't that a crazy long request?!?  I have to repeat it to myself in like about a million times so I don't forget one of the words. So I got this idea from little luxury lists  ... Since we are all probably tired of wearing sweaters {some more than others}, I thought I would post some cute ones that can cheer us up from the winter blues.    How cute are those elbow pads?   

So guess what ... it was snowing yesterday in Jacksonville, FL. Yep I saw it with my own eyes or I wouldn't have believed it either. So I thought I would post what I'll be wearing tomorrow ... okay minus the MK bag but hey a girl can dream. Doubtful that I will wake up to a fresh powder covering everything but hey it did snow for about 30 mins. So how's this arctic weather effecting you?

  Very cozy cute work look!   Pantone described the color as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red.”   Here are some other color combinations if you want to rock this color in 2015! My combination was geared towards No. 1.  I also like Nos. 3, 4 and 7.   What do you like this color for 2015?  Will you be rocking any of the combos above?   Happy New Year!  

So this week's topic is back to school and guess what ... Shia is back in school!  YAY!  More on that later but for now here's my attempt at geek chic.  Love those bangs but too bad my white girl fro doesn't agree ... boo hoo!

So errands can be fun {sometimes} but going through all the prepping can just be a big waste of time.  I'm not big on dressing up unless I am meeting friends for lunch or coffee. However, I do hate to just wear running shorts and have the whole going to the gym look when I have no intentions of going to the gym {ahem flip flops kinda give it away}.  So I thought ... why not find a fun way to dress up some gym shorts and tada ... here is a def look I would wear when doing errands. What do you think? Are you one of those girls that looks flawless when doing errands  ... you know the ones I outfit crush on?

So here's my Friday Fancies on Saturday ... better late then never.  I'm not a huge fan of shorts ... I prefer skirts but I found these shorts similar to a skirt I own and thought I'd so a simple way to look fabulous when out and about this summer.   Join the fun and link up at {long distance loving} !

I'm not one to crush over an actress/model/whatever's look.  Come on they have stylists!  However I do envy and have style crushes on those around me that can create a bold color and printed outfit.  I have outfit crushes ... so here is an attempt to make an outfit that I would totally crush on if I saw someone wearing it. I just love mint and coral together ... now only if my skin tone loved them as much I do.  Also, it takes guts to mix prints and bold colors so I just crush over anyone's outfit that does and then scour the internet looking for the same pieces {true story}. Have you ever had one of these moments?

So as you all know I've done tons of outfits with stripes so I thought why not have fun with stripes on assessories for once instead the clothes. So here are two looks I came up with using the same bag and shoe. Of course stripes are not complete without polka dots for me ... so had to add that fun skirt. Thank you all for your support and understanding on my vacation from blogging! I really did miss you guys and I'm glad to be back!!  

          

So I am currently suffering with an obsession for a J Crew Seersucker Pencil Skirt.  I saw a cute outfit on tv with the skirt and thought OMG ... I have to recreate it.  I have the shirt equivalent to said outfit but alas no seersucker.  So I have been on the hunt and I found a skirt on ebay ... sounds great right?  Well I feel like the seller is asking a bit much for a USED skirt.  She wants $40 which isn't horrible for a J Crew find if the great find was actually at J Crew and/or at J Crew Factory.  But regardless it is still cute and what I have been obsessing over so I thought ....  maybe I could validate the purchase with coming up with a few more ways to wear it. So what do you think?  I should buy it? What are you currently obsessing?

Gingham, Stripes, Polka Dots and Bold Colors - OH MY!   So I started off with a polka dot pencil skirt and chambray top and thought ... I can do better than this! I love polka dots so I thought why not give them the props they deserve and try to make a fun statement while I was at it. What do you think? I hope you all have a fab weekend!

This week is all about pastels but I've jumped the gun on that topic several times so I thought I would share my new jeans! Yesterday I was supposed to have lunch with a few old coworker friends but at the last minute they had to cancel so I used my extended lunch break to head over to the mall and check out some clearance racks and YAY I found cobalt jeans at the Loft for $4.88!!!  When I went to the checkout I was told they were an online return and that they don't even carry them in the store ... as if $4.88 wasn't fabulous enough ... I then felt that they were meant to be a part of my wardrobe. So I've been longing for red jeans seriously I have notes on my ipod touch and they are on the wish list but I've never really thought red looked good on me but blue ... OBSESSED with blue.  If I am not careful my entire wardrobe will turn blue.  So you know me ... I am slow on the fashion front so I googled cobalt jeans and found this ...  I almost j...

So since I've sucked at blogging this week I thought I would give you two days of "Friday Fancies".  So as I have mentioned before I'm headed to Disney this weekend with my family.  I've also mentioned that I really stink at casual looks.  Seriously it is like yoga pants and t-shirt or business wear for me.  I literally googled what to wear to Disney and ended up finding a tumblr page called Disney Bound .  This website is INSANE!  People create outfits based on Disney characters and some even wear them to Disney and post pics of them with their character.  So I thought okay ... if people can do this ... then I can create cute looks to wear to  Disney.  So I checked the weather and Saturday it will be 77 and Sunday 80.  I really don't like wearing shorts but I LOVE wearing skirts.  So I put together these looks. For my first day look, my pink skirt is actually from Forever 21 and has a pleated tulle overlay with a black ban...

  Happy Friday everyone!  Sorry I am late posting but you would not believe the internet fiasco going on at home ... hopefully fixed today!!   One of my favorite clothing items is lace!  Seriously LOVE IT!  My wedding gown was lace and it was gorgeous!!  So I came up with two lace outfits ... work wear and weekend wear.  Also, if you think those heels look familiar ... they are!  I used them in my Outfit Crush Friday Fancies .  Love them ... seriously I should buy them right?      If you don't already ... link up with {Long Distance Loving}! {LongDistanceLoving} I really didn't know what to do with this jewelry themed Friday Fancies because I don't wear a lot of jewelry so I thought I would start with a fun weekend skirt and go from there and nothing is more fun then having a Queen on your skirt.  So I thought I'd throw in some over the top gold jewelry to make anyone feel like they were Queen for the Day.   What do you think? This week's topic for Friday Fancies was Red Carpet Ready ... create a gorgeous look or show how you'll dress the part at home ... but here's the catch ... I don't watch award shows.  Sure I look at best dressed afterwards (I do often ponder ... how do they sit in those gowns?) ... but I just never think YAY gonna watch.  So instead I thought I would create a Ready for Spring look.  Currently I have a few outfits that I am rocking that I think would just be a little more fab with a cute cowboy boot.
