World According to Shia

I keep having dreams where I have dyed my hair purple, violet, or gray with a hint of violet.  The main issue in my dream is always ... will I be able to wear this to work?  So I had a great idea - why not create a pic of myself with purple hair and see how it looks ... well?  Now with my choppy short hair - don't I just look so millennial? So with all the fab hair colors out there now ... can the corporate world just grow up and get it? Oh wait ... I think we have BIGGER issues that society can't even handle ... so I guess we are a LONG way away from purple hair being accepted in a corporate world.  Maybe once all those baby boomers aren't in charge anymore {pondering those zen thoughts ahhhhh} ... can't wait for that era!! So what do you think? Purple Hair? 

So I am seeing pool prints in magazines but are they actually wearable outside of pool side or heck even pool side?  Sometimes I am hesitant to embrace a bold print because I then feel as if I am limited by it.  So I would probably pick the understated print rather than the literal.   So what about you ... which one would you pick?  If you pick the literal one ... how would you switch it up?

So a fab friend gave me some birthday cizzash and here's what I got: a) Old Navy Rockstar Polka Dot jeans - Thank you Rachel from lala Lists - she emailed me yesterday regarding those fab jeans from my last Friday Fancies and gave me a tip to look at Old Navy for some and tada ... I got these (wait for it ... ) on CLEARANCE for $12!!!!  YAY!  Paul was like I am confused as to why you are so happy about polka dot jeans so I let him in on the secret (1) they are totally fab (2) a must have staple and (3) at my new job I can wear more casual stuff hence JEANS!!!!!  YAY!  Finally I will get to create fab casual outfits because currently everything I rock is corporate world crap!  Go me go me go me!   Thank you again Rachel!!!!   Head over and check out her blog! b) TJ Maxx find - Hester & Orchard - mine is a tad lighter than the one in the picture ... Here's all the awesome stuff I bought! a & b) Printed Dress Pants NY&Co. BOGO 50% off!  Love (a) reminds me of those H&M pants from my last Friday Fancy!  I paired them with a black top and purple sweater.  Super cute.  (b) I wore with the Chambray top and a pink sweater. c) Clearance Old Navy - too big but totally rocking it with a pencil skirt today at work.  I rolled up the arms and the rest looks pretty good - baggy and all! d) Chambray Shirt - NY&Co. - love this shirt!  I've seen so many fab outfits using a Chambray Shirt so I just had to get one.  It was a bit of a splurge but totally worth it! e) Emerald sweater from The Loft - on clearance!  Also, I looked EVERYWHERE for emerald ... you would think the color of the year would be easier to find! f) Heels from Sears "Bongo" - I know weird place to look for shoes - I have this monstrous gift card from there so I basically got these FOR FREE! ...

I just love these flats I got at Ross yesterday for $12.99. They are made by Rocketdog and after doing some googling I found that these shoes go for like $40 - $50. Can you say deal? I am obsessed with flats and I wear them more than heels which is like blasphemy to some of my friends but hey they are comfy and cute. I love when I find cute casual flats and I'll even where them to work to play down a more professional look (ahem...like today plus hello there are places on this planet that have casual Fridays...hint hint Shia's work). So do you love flats?

So I've done one of these posts in the past   and thought it was time for an update. So here is what is currently in my bag..... C) A piece of confetti from Marissa's birthday party...why? No idea!! D) CLA supplements ~ I'm doing Weight Watchers and I have to have oil as part of my Healthy Guidelines and apparently Dr. Oz has announced that safflower oil helps block fat absorption and helps you burn stored fat...well you know me...I did some research and found out that it also helps with lean muscle mass.  So off to wholefoods I went...CLA supplements are made from safflower oil but they have the necessary ingredients to help you absorb the supplement and not just pass through your system like the safflower oil would. E) Bread tie?  Nah...this was around my ipod headphones so I still win...

So on Friday, my work friend asked me if I would want to go with her at lunch to get her nails done so I thought sure...I really need a manicure and then I thought...perhaps I'll get something fun! This was my inspiration from Nicole - Top to Toe Click { here } to see her FAB blog!! {Also please know that I had SEVERAL ideas from her blog and when I had the pics EVERYONE in the salon wanted to know who's nails they were...I {of course} passed her info around.} So here is what I got.... Black, White & Yellow {obviously} What do you think?  I love it but I will admit it does look a little like Charlie Brown...lol.  Also, don't forget to check out  Nicole - Top to Toe she has some amazing nail polish skillz!!

I absolutely love this white/cream/tan furniture with the yellow and black/blue accents.  This bedroom is described as "country bedroom" on this website .  Even though this style is called country...I love it!  I think I just have to free myself of what I think when I hear the word country...country doesn't necessarily mean cracker...I mean this bedroom idea is from a UK website.  Last time I checked...they don't have crackers there.  (anyways they call them biscuits...lol...good one Shia) Also, I love cabinets that look like these.... Shaker Style I really love white shaker kitchen cabinets however the white can make them look a little builder grade so when Paul and I build our house...we will have shaker but they will be a darker color.

No Love Lost by worldaccordingtoshia featuring h&m dresses So I finally got to experience H&M in person.  I found out that there are two in Orlando.  So I went expecting greatness and left thinking...eh!  I like the idea more than the actual stuff.  I went in looking for that white and multicolored striped dress because I saw it in a magazine and thought ... hey this is cute and cheap.  It wasn't as cute in person.  I tried the other dresses on and thought...okay cute but they are $40.  What happened to cheap?  Basically their cheap stuff...is precisely that...cheap.  It consists of thin cotton which you can see your hand through and when the quality steps up so does the price.  I don't want to compare them to Old Navy because they aren't THAT bad.  I mean I would have bought three out of the four dresses above but I didn't want to spend $40 per dress or even $40 on one dress.  (I know I am cheap but seriously I d...

If you are like me you hate the idea of a new hairstyle, a new color, etc. because there is always that fear of what if...what if it doesn't look good, what if I hate it in a week, etc.  So normally if I think about cutting my hair or doing a color change I just do it that day because I know I am going to talk myself out of it.  So today, I decided that I wanted to darken my hair.  I called a couple of salons and I have an appointment for MONDAY!  When hanging up the phone I thought...well by Monday I will chicken out.  So I thought, why not find a picture of what I want.  I am more apt to commit to something that I can see ahead of time.  So I went online and found this great feature on Instyle.com.  Click here to try it for yourself.  You upload a photo of yourself and you can try on different hairstyles, different hair colors and you can even try on makeup and even colored contacts.  It is a really neat way of doing a makeover. These are my new shoes for summer and I LOVE them! I got these at Payless Shoesource, $16.99 but I got them for $13.99 since I had to go to a different location to pick up my size, it's cool that they give you a discount for having to go to a different location, so next time you don't see your size ask the clerk to locate them at a different store and save $3. I can't wait to wear them...also I am thinking...how can I wear these to work =)

So this is what I normally wear to the pool. This bathing suit I got at Target like 5 years ago! Simple Tshirt and pull on shorts and some cheap sunglasses I got from Walmart. I got these cover up dresses from Old Navy like $7 a piece a few years ago and here is my NEW bathing suit...$12 a piece at Walmart and drum roll it is REVERSIBLE and I love both sides!! Here are some other sunglasses I have had for years. Here's the other side of my bathing suit and I got this cover up from Victoria Secret a few years ago on clearance with an additional % off. I can't remember how much but I know it was cheap. Here's another pair of sunglasses I have had forever. I have a love/hate relationship with these sunglasses...I love the coverage they give but I hate how they make me look like a bug...so look silly or no sunspots or wrinkles on my eyes....hmmmmm which one sounds worse I am thinking sunspots and wrinkles LOL!
