Christmas Shopping ~ Part One

Image
I can't believe that I am talking about Christmas shopping in the BEGINNING of November.  I am normally that person that waits until the last minute but I guess all you lovely bloggers have inspired me to get my booty in gear.  So yesterday I started with my niece Marissa who is 5 yrs old.  She really loves Hello Kitty and jamming out to the radio so I thought...get her a Hello Kitty Radio!!  So I bought this from Toys R Us... {$29.99} {12.99} Also last year I wanted to get her some girly bath stuff since she really likes Victoria Secret Body Spray but I thought this is more age appropriate...lol {Free Gift w/ $30 + Purchase} The best part...ordered and paid online and the store emailed me when it was ready to be picked up!!  Which is awesome for folks like me with no kids....I can't say that Toys R Us or Babies R Us are my favorite stores to shop in so it's awesome to just be able to run in and out. So one niece down, two more to shop for....any ideas on...

Ask Shia's Advice #2

Dear Shia, So I connected some "dots" earlier this week that have led me to suspect that a guy friend I have had for over a decade might in fact want to be more than just my friend. I'm not in love with him, and I feel that the only way I would ever consider dating a friend is if I felt that it could be...everything, you know?! He just told a close friend that he has basically liked me since he met me (but I've been in other relationships until fairly recently). Now I feel worried about hanging out with him. I don't want to have him ask me out and I shoot him down and in doing so, lose a friend. How would you let someone down nicely in this situation? I've heard someone wise tell me once that guys that are just "friends" aren't possible. Maybe I have to face this reality! Please help =) Just Friends in Friendlyville Dear Just Friends in Friendlyville,  As if we didn't have ENOUGH problems with guys...they had to come u...

Rude Receptionists

Image
Have you ever called somewhere and gotten completely ticked off by the person answering the phone?  It JUST HAPPEN to me.  I am seriously debating at saying something at my appointment.  Shouldn't your receptionist be cheerful and helpful?  I mean don't you want the person answering the phone to give a good impression of your business?   Sigh!

Happy November!

Which one is better?

A) Aveeno Clear Complexion $7.49 B) St. Ives Apricot Scrub $3.99 C) Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead Cream Cleanser $7.49 So I've tried all of these products.  They all have typically the same ingredients and all include 2% salicylic acid {which I believe is the cure for nasty pimples}. Here are my thoughts.... Aveeno - smells nice but it kinda feels like you're washing your face with Noxzema {without the smell and the burn} it just doesn't lather up and when you're done you still feel like you need to wash your face, it does have a few exfoliating beads in it but all in all...it just doesn't get the job done. St. Ives - it's been around for FOREVER but it lacks modern sophistication - the exfoliating beads are so rough you could use it on your feet to remove calluses.  It also doesn't later up and in the end you just feel like you have sand on your face that you can't get off.   Biore - hands down the winner!  This stuff works great and because of...
