My blog was picked as Editor's Pick of the Day on Bloggers.com (a blog directory)!!!! How awesome is that??

You can't make this stuff up!

Okay so I just went to do my daily bridge walk and it was sprinkling when I got outside of the building so for fear that it would start to downpour I decided to do the stairs in the building.  I work on the 19th floor so I went up to 19 and back down.  I am not going to lie...there was a moment when I had to stop because I thought I was going to throw up. The best part is…apparently they never wipe down the banisters so my hand was covered with black dirt and I guess I must have wiped my face because when I got back upstairs I had a hitler mustache…. How about that irony!! Also, please know that I rode the elevator back up and two chicks on the elevator kept looking at me! So I will forever be known as the girl in the elevator with the hitler stache!

Happy Monday

Despite it being Monday (and 40 degrees in Florida where it has been like 70 all winter) and having to take my BRAND NEW car to the dealership AGAIN...I am happy cuz look at my Starbucks cup!!  Super cute right! The only thing that could ruin my  mood is looking up how many points are in this cup ~ I am thinking 7...it's 6!  YAY!   {Still kinda bad but hey not 7!!} So I know I have been MIA...I am working on  it...I promise and to make it up to all of you I will be having my FIRST GIVEAWAY soon! I even made my own button for it...you heard that right folks...I MADE A BUTTON!! Stay tuned for the Giveaway!!!

Happy Friday Lovely Bloggers!!

Image
Man...a five day week when almost EVERYONE had a four day week...stinks but Friday is FINALLY here!! I am hoping for a super productive weekend.  I am going to make a list of all the stuff I want to get done because I find when I have a list ~ I'm more likely to accomplish it all. First off, Saturday posts will start appearing more and the topic of Saturday posts will be well....I guess just tune in to see...(wink). One of the things on top of my list is that Ask Shia's Advice that I have never answered....I have done A LOT of research and even have an outline ready but I haven't sat down and written it...if you emailed me it and are thinking "What the"...no worries I am kicking myself everyday too.  It will be up Monday I promise ~ cross my heart!! What are your big plans this weekend?  Doing any crafts, writing or painting?  Hanging out with friends and shopping?  I'd love to hear.

Ring A Ding Ding

So today at lunch, my co-worker friend and I got stuck over at the Landing (pathetic excuse for our "downtown mall") due to a short down pour so we went into Body Shop for some laughs and found the following.... "The Gun Show" The only thing that would have made this MORE hilarious  was if you could actually pull the trigger alas you could not. "The Fruit Roll Up" Doesn't it just make you want to go buy some fruit roll ups ...oh how much fun we used to have a lunch time. I will have to say that there was tons of stuff that was in shockingly bad taste but these two items were the funniest.

So much to do....such little time to do it.....

I'm late, I'm late for A very important date. No time to say hello, good-bye,  I'm late, I'm late, I'm late I'm late... Why is it that when I am busy...I AM BUSY and when I'm not I have absolutely NOTHING to do. I feel like this weekend is just jammed packed with stuff to do and I keep thinking...I HAVE ONLY TWO DAYS TO GET IT ALL DONE!?!? So even though it is only Thursday I feel like I am already frantically running around like the white rabbit worrying about not getting it all done. Time management sounds like the obvious answer but it really isn't because I've put off everything until now. Sometimes you just have too much going on and not enough time to do it. So in order to make it through this weekend, I am prioritizing what ACTUALLY needs to get done vs. what can really WAIT. Plus, if I put all this pressure on myself I will not enjoy any of my weekend. Also, I'm going to try to get some of the errands I need to run d...

Who's Jerseylicious?

PAUL!  So tonight when scanning the channels, I came across the newest Jerseylicious and since Paul was home I started to set it up for DVR and he told me to hold up.   He wants to see what happens with Olivia.  LOL!  Yes folks we sat here and watch the entire hour WITH commercials and then he got all in to the previews.  Someone is a closet realty tv junkie.  This happens EVERY time I try to sneak in some Bravo or Oxygen shows, he ends up getting all into them and asking me about all the background stories.  Too hillarious!  So apparently next week we will be tuning in again for some new Jerseylicious drama.

Guy's Closet

So how many of you have old clothes in your closet that you're keeping for who knows what reason?...too small - will fit one day...two big - will fit one day, etc. Well since I have cleaned out my closet, I've noticed that Paul has clothes that he is holding on to. People he has STONE WASHED JEANS - and yes they are HIDEOUS as they sound and some of the other pieces of clothing are just as HILARIOUS. There is a vest! YES SHIA SAID VEST!!!! You thought stonewash was hilarious .... I can tell you that he'll NEVER wear any of this stuff but it's just comical that men hold on to old clothes too. I seriously am thinking about posting pics of this stuff on here but I'm afraid that he'll see and get upset. But trust me....FUNNY STUFF. Also, it's just amusing to know that those quirky things that women do....MEN DO THEM TOO! So, next time your guy is giving you a hard time about your wardrobe or hoarding stuff. Look in their closet...it's definitely en...

Perfect Storm

So last week I was a mess. I seriously thought about posting it on my blog ... listing all the stuff going on and how I was feeling but I was seriously afraid that it would read like a suicide note. Literally folks, I cried like EVERYDAY (Shia doesn't cry...just ask Taller... I think I even freaked her out with hearing/seeing me cry...thanks for dealing with me Taller) and when I thought to myself..."am I depressed?" I cried even more. I seriously thought I was going to lose it - quit my job - get in my car and just drive away. Well happily I can say that I am better but while it was happening I felt like it was just getting worse and worse. At one point, I thought if I told my mom - her response would be - is it your period? My response then would be NO MOM! I'M DEPRESSED! So alas it was the perfect storm....too much work stress....too much family stress....too much football (and Paul watching football...OMG is the superbowl here yet?!?) ...full moon (yes peo...

4 year olds.....

The amount of energy my 4 year old niece has is amazing.  Today she got up early like 7 am to meet have Christmas pictures taken...then trip to Santa...more pics...then Circle and Marissa off to the zoo...playground....more zoo...ride to Circle's house...napped in the car for about 45 mins....playground...played on the steps in the pool...more playground....now she's running around the living room with Daisy.  How does she have all this energy?  It is INSANE!  Nicole we need to figure out how to bottle this and become millionaires.  Now the Wizard of Oz is on TBS...hopefully this wears her down...PUH=PLEASE...Aunt Circle can't keep up!!

What a waste...

So this morning I am walking to the elevator in the parking garage and this girl comes around the corner in this old grocery getter with a Harvard badge on the back. Wow Harvard impressive but um...you went to Harvard and ended up downtown in Jacksonville driving a beat up grocery getter....REALLY?!? Wow that totally sucks! I mean Harvard...you would think you would have more job opportunities than just Jacksonville. I mean come on if you just wanted to work in Jacksonville you could have just went to the University of Florida like the rest of us. I mean it is the "Harvard" of the South...yeah I couldn't even type that without laughing that's what they were constantly telling us while I was there and somehow I never quite believed it....oh well. But anywho .... I guess it's hard for Harvard grads to even find jobs!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

I am taking the day off tomorrow because drum roll....PAUL AND I ARE GOING TO LOOK AT ENGAGEMENT RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quick Update

Our firm has implemented a new...NO INTERNET policy and since I don't have a computer at home this is cramping my blog style. Have no fear...Shia is right now risking her job to tell you this...LOL....I'm working on getting SOME computer to do my blog on. Our IT guy is looking at my laptop please OH PLEASE let him fix it...Shia's problems would then be solved. Anywho, it's killing me because I have like a million blogs to post. But I'll get them up...don't worry!

Funny Story

Image
This is the Bareminerals color spectrum which I found online when I started writing this post and now hence the funny story. So last night I had to swing by Bareminerals on the way home to buy foundation. Well since Taller and I have been walking at lunch I've gotten pretty tan compared to my normal whiteness. I decided that I was going to do a color match and buy whatever color I need now. Sounds logical right. Well I was Fairly Light which you can see from the color spectrum above is the second lightest color, until I found this I thought it was the lightest. There is hope for Nicole! If you think I'm pale she is transparent! So the counter girl at Bareminerals told me that I was probably now Medium Beige. I was just flabbergasted to think that I, Shia, am even Beige let alone MEDIUM BEIGE! I was unconvinced until she put it on me and I saw...I am MEDIUM BEIGE! I was so proud that I had to call Taller and tell her...SHIA IS MEDIUM BEIGE! So I had decided th...

Don't you hate when...

.... you have a million blog post ideas running through your mind and then when you sit down to blog you can't remember ONE?

RATS! It's Friday!

So there's a pep in my step so it must be FRIDAY! However, my day started off sort of weird. I walked through the parking garage to the elevator and had to step out of the way of a HUGE dead rat. Seriously, if parking garages weren't scary enough at night now you have to worry about RATS! AHHHHH! Which is ironic because I just watched the movie Drag Me to Hell and thought...wow parking garages aren't THAT scary but now I have to rethink that whole thought. Sure there isn't some crazy cataract blind gypsy hanging out in my backseat ready to attack me but there's just a huge rat hiding under my car ready to gnaw on my leg and give me the plague! Just as I was entering the building and trying to clear that horrid thought of the rat out of my head...I ran into one of our associates...getting his tennis shoes shined in the lobby. TENNIS SHOES! AHHHHH! What is going on? I think that was scarier than the rat!
